Diane Ferlatte

Story Preservation is delighted to add five stories for the Pre-K and K set by the famed storyteller Diane Ferlatte.  Diane is one of the most popular tellers in the United States and throughout the world.  She has been a featured teller at venues throughout the US and internationally from Austria to Auckland.  She brings her stories to life with songs, humor, vocal transformations, and listener participation.  Erik Pearson on banjo and guitar adds foot tapping, hand-clapping rhythm to her stories.

Diane has received numerous honors including grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Storytelling Network’s Circle of Excellence Award.  She has been honored with a Grammy nomination and multiple Parents’ Choice, American Library Association, iParenting Media, Storytelling World, and National Parenting Publications awards.

She focuses much of her work on schools and libraries because she believes this is where the tradition of storytelling is to be nurtured and the lessons of the stories most need to be heard.

For the K-3 Learning Lab, Story Preservation has chosen five of Diane’s songs for the younger set (Pre-K and K).
